Linear shape charges used for cutting steel were found and captured in Syria. The overall construction and visual appearance makes them look improvised or poorly manufactured, but the sophistication is nonetheless alarming. Visual looks aside, it is reported that “the Det cord runs all the way through along the top” and that “They actually work really well and have cut through some rather thick pieces of steel” in post seizure exploitation testing.
