Iraqi security forces found and seized one of the largest improvised munitions factories in Fallujah operated by the Islamic State in late 2016. The facility was discovered during search operations after members of the Islamic State were pushed out of the city. The building was left abandoned and contained a huge amount of improvised weapons in various stages of completion. Production equipment and supplies were also present. The facility was producing mortars, rockets, improvised explosive devices (IEDs), Hell cannons, IRAMs (Improvised Rocket Assisted Munitions) including various launchers and equipment used in their deployment. There was also ordnance and ammunition of various calibers mixed throughout the assortment.
