Large VBIED Seized in Nangarhar, Afghanistan

April 5, 2018 – Two terrorists were killed and this (S)VBIED was seized during a recent raid in the Chapahar district of eastern Nangarhar province, Afghanistan. An investigation determined that the terrorists had apparently been planning an attack in Jalalabad, the provincial capital.  It remains unclear if the captured explosive-laden vehicle was to be used as a VBIED or SVBIED.
